limited slip tank

Mounting up my new limited slip tank tonight in a 50 cal foot rocket. Any one have photos of how theirs is mounted? Any suggestions? Thinking about gluing some yoga blocks down on the hull to even out the surface.

Thanks

It'll fit? I know the limited slip tank doesn't fit in my footrocket.

My friend has the limited slip tank in his chan, he has 4 straps and velcro on the bottom of the tank.

I put some turf under mine, but I think I need to put even more. Velcro sounds like a pretty good idea to get some extra holding power. I wonder if the glue would come off. I put 4 straps on mine in my Rickter but need just a bit more, it shifts around a bit, and I'm sure it moves more when I land upside down.

Please post pics as I will be doing the same thing, hopefully within the next week or two. Where did you mount your ebox? 3gal or 4.7gal tank?

Only issue I'm having is finding the right strap combo to keep it down. Might need to buy some different length straps. I laid some workout mat underneath it, it's about 1/2-3/4in thick. It's the stuff you use to put under weight machines in home gyms.

Hi

I use a brap strap setup with dyneema rope (unbreakable and no stretch)...under the tank is a 1 inch pad.the rope is fixed at 4 places on the hull in front and behind the tank same as stock.....rock solid the stnoodles.png raps in the picture has long since been removed. The tank cant move at all and is well protected with the rubber mat underneath.

Hi

Its totally inert....no reaction to gas at all...mines been in place for 2 years and I have never had to tighten the brap strap even once. I cant get a pic that far down without removing everything....I bought 4 stainless steel rings from a marine boat shop and tied the ends of the dyneema to the rings and just hooked the rings into the stock hull hooks...biggest challenge is making the knots for the SS rings Dyneema is as slippery as soap....but the right knot works wonders...just google that.

Here's how I did mine, still need another strap. But I used a workout mat from target on the bottom of the hull. It's about 3/4" thick super easy to cut with a straight edge. I used contact cement to stick it to the hull, then used contact cement to stick the carbon locators to the workout mat. I'm using 4 straps, will definitely need a 5th but that should be it. I'll take better pictures tomorrow or Saturday.

No, I didn't. I cut the workout mat out for those hull inserts. The mat is around the same height as the inserts. It's a 12v x2 power lithium ion battery. They had it at batteries plus, $160. I can take a pic of that too.

Nice, i was thinking that would work but wasnt sure hight wise. Looks great, im still waiting for my hull to get here and im dying!! It looks like a perfect fit.

Yeah just have to make sure it's in there nice and tight so it doesn't slide forward and hit that hood pin. Other than that it fits great. Definitely use those locators, keeps it up right otherwise you'd need to build up some sort of padding on the sides.
