Lloyd Burlew Superjet freestyle circa 1997 video

This is a old skool video I got in 98 off the Westcoast website. As many know, Westcoast was a aftermarket company for PWC. They are no longer in business. This is Lloyd "Showtime" Burlew in 1997. Lloyd was a true master of the sport and probably still has the best balance and flexibility of any freestylist, even today.

His patented hand stand was a real crowd pleaser, as also the groin reaper and the tidy bowl. He threw in as many tricks as he could pack in a 2 minute routine. This competition for this day had a 3K purse!! Wish it was like that today... Enjoy!

Lloyd is a cool cat. I used to deliver Zephyrhills water to his house in Brevard county when i worked for Perrier. Nice guy, easy to talk to.

Don't think I ever met a pro rider so stoked and enthusiastic about the sport. He never acted as though he was a celebrity or like his sh it didn't stink. One of the greatest ambassadors for the sport.

Now thats freestyle in my book. I would love to see this combined with the big air moves of today. Balance, ski control and big air moves.

Stoyer and Parr are both capable of great balance and control of a ski, it just doesn't score very well.

limited 701 with maybe some porting. All the basic bolt-ons. Factory "B" pipe, high compression head, impeller, flame arrestors and Lloyd was running a purple race fuel.

Just to give you all a heads up. He's back riding again. Lloyd is a cousin of mine. He recently over the winter "Acquired" the 1997 Championship SuperJet back from the guy he sold it to.

It's a lot more fun watching that freestyle than what we get now, back flips and barrel rolls one after another. IMO

I like watching Stoyer ride he throws some of the fun freestyle back in the mix.
