Looking for pump advice for eme micro

I picked up a 91 sj 701 with a head and bpipe this winter that Im swapping into a micro. I tore it all down today and it had a skat 13/18 in the stock 144. Im thinking thats pitched too high for a micro? Im also at 8,000 ft elevation. My pump budget is about 1K. Wondering what you guys would run in my position. Thanks.
Also interested in used pumps, I think most pumps can be worked into the micro

I'm running a ported 701 with a Solas mag pump, stubby cone, 9/15 hooker cut back 5mm extra, and a nozzle bored to 85mm. Works awesome in my wdk rip. I would say a 10/16 would be too much prop for a 701.

spending a 1000 plus on a solas and prop thats the same diameter as your stock pump is dumb in my opinion. I only say this because I have done it. I sold it and bought a oem 155 pump off ebay and the skat prop for it and had money left over and would never look back. Im only running a 718, its all in how you tune it.

If you don't have a problem spending lots of time tuning a 155 for a small motor, and going through the effort of replacing a pump shoe it's not a bad option. Plus you need to make sure your pump intake tunnel can actually benefit from it..
But Solas pumps come up for less than 600$ with a driveshaft now. I'll switch to a 155 someday, but for now a 144 mag was an absolute night and day difference over stock, and I'm not running an intake grate.
It's all in what your riding preferences are..

Thanks for the advice everyone. Sounds like the 9/15 hooker will be my choice. I hear what your saying about skipping the 144 and jumping to a 155 but Im stuck riding my js440 until I get the micro together. The sooner the better. I still need to get adapters to put the yami pump on the micro and figure out what Im doing about a midshaft because mine seems to be a few inches too long

How so? His engine isnt going to make crazy power at that altitude, youd think he'd want the lowest pitch possible?
He's saying that with the high altitude his engine is making less power, so he'd need a lower pitch than a 9/15

I'm running a 9/15 at 5200' and it hooks great, throw on some high comp domes to get your power up to support a 9/15 pitch.

Im pretty sure Ill be getting cam's 144 and having the prop repitched to 9/15. If I decide to go bigger later Ill put the 144 back in my sj. I have 32cc domes that put me at 165psi. Seems a little low but it seems to rip pretty hard

Update: The ski is together and Im four rides in. 144mm mag pump with hooker 9/15. I still need to tweak other things on the ski but it seems like I'd be interested in a lower pitch. I can't see the micro needing to do over 30 ever. How low can I go for a 100% freestyle application?
