Looking to get into Freestyle

Hey everyone, im new to the forums. I live in southern Ontario on the shores of lake erie. I've been in and around water sports my entire life, boats, PWC sports, you name it ive done it on water.... exept freestyle. I've ridden older atand ups before and was fine with them,

My question is to get a 2006 Super Jet or the SXi?

Im leaning towards the super jet but need opinions.

thanks, this forum looks kick ass by the way!

if you want to get into freestyle look for some one that is selling a freestyle superjet. That is your best bet..........saves allot of $$ in the long run.

So a yamaha is the way to go? Thats my main question, anyway ill prob buy a stock 2003+ and just go to town on mods after my first summer of riding, over the winter ill do most of the mods and tuning and possible repaint, i got a schollarship to university so i basically have like 15 grand to spend on toys, i already bought a colarado, so i just need something to tow:biggrin:

can't go wrong with a superjet. If you plan on modifying a ski get a used one so you don't have to pay the new price. I would shop around for a freestyle boat for around 7k, very doable.

yes find something that is already for freestyle...preferrably a superjet...doenst matter what year really they are all the same from 96 and up,and u said about paint. WOW 15 grand just for toys why not for like school payments or nething???

Definitly a Superjet. If your plannin on spending 11-15 grand on a ski, I would save yourself alot of time and money and pick up a Wamilton Freestyle Superjet.

No i got a full ride schollarship for aerospace and nautical engineering. So no school payments, i had about 25 grand saved for school.... so now i get to spend it. I bought an 02 colarado, lowered and painted, now i need something else to go with that truck. I might just get a freestyle ski. Im sure i can ride a non stock ski just fine, i would rather spend the 10 grand now and get something that is proven, rather than get a used one and dink around with it myself. Having something that is at the top of the line is going to increase my learning curve greatly i suspect too.

that is like a dream. To be able to buy an already built ski. very nice. I would definately do that if the money is there. Nothing I hate more that to have to wrench on the ski before I ride.

My 2 cents

Thats exactly what im thinking, although im kinda a motor head, but i would like to have a kick ass ski withought all the head ache a do it yourself custom can incure lol

man i don't know where to start with that, no_f uckingmotor.com :frown:

Spend the money while you got it. Just as long as you don't run out, and I'm assuming you have all other living expenses covered. Because it seems like you don't want to just spend the money away on bills at least not on bills that arn't for something that you will keep and have and use. So yeah if you think you'll try to save up that much for a ski over the future maybe get a used one, but if it doesn't seem likely maybe now is your chance to get the Wamilton Customs freestyle ski sweetness. They even have financing now, so you can just spend the amount you would use on the used ski for a down payment, and not even pay the 10 grand yet. You cant go wrong with that. See ya anywhere theres water! :1244:

I think im gonna design some of my own parts, at least hull, and body parts, I have facillities to do fiberglassing available to me, and carbon fiber as well, mabey as a projet throughout the year ill design new parts for a SJ, i am going into nautical/hydrodynamic engineering after all. I might have a some projects i could make some money off lol.

I did by the way choose hydro over aerospace engineering, i think this is gonna be fun especially if i get into freestyle, it could bet me into the industry eventually. Im pumped to find a ski now!

Going from not wanting to dink around with a used one and after market parts yourself, to designing your own parts

Definately get a used superjet... best bang for the buck.
For 3 to 6 grand, you could get a Freestyle ski ready to go. If you buy a new stocker and ride someone elses older freestyle ski, your gonna be mad and hate yours. Plus, sinse your new, your gonna bang it up anyway. They don't stay looking like new that long.

It will cost about 10 grand to build one up yourself from stock, not to mention a TON of work and time.
