I have a small motor @ 727cc in my XFS. The power isn't bad for this ski, I was able to pull a 3/4 of a BF after 10 min of riding, which was NEVER possible with my RN - i like that.
What I do not like is the way the power is transferred the water. After e.g a 180, it takes a bit of time for the ski to go in the opposite direction. Was thinking that such a ski/hull would benefit from a mag type of a pump (Solas. skat, etc) - in the way it would put the power on the water. I ride flatwater and my current pump setup is bored nozzle @ 85mm, cone, cutback by 3mm oem 2008 prop (skattrak 12/17 would just spin way too much).
Will the pump / vane section, mag type, cure these problems? Is it worth it to spend money on this for my application?
Sorry, but I've never even seen a mag pump (except for HSR).
Thanks
Andrew
