Making Footholds

I want to put footholds in my 1990 650sx but i don't want to spend the money when i have a bunch of glass mat and resin. Has anyone ever made footholds before? I figure if they are homemade then they will most likely fit yout foot a lot better than a one size fits all type. If anyone has any pics or and helpfull input on how to make them i would like to know.

i was thinking about taking a big chunk of foam and slowly cutting out the shape of my foot and a little extra for the turf and wrapping it with a plastic drop cloth and then just lay some strips in it and resin it up.

youve got it.

ive done almost exactly that, and they work pretty well, for simple old school foot holds.

I use PAM cooking spray on the plastic sheet too, it releases the resin easier.

Dude i tried to do it too. I took an old boot and wrapped it in saran wrap and then sprayed great stuff all over the sides of it. I got it pretty thick so i could mold it. The mold came out mint but trying to get it to sit ina place so i can glass it was another thing. Its more time than it is worth. I threw in the towel and bought some used from kahuna for 30 bux. well worth the money. It is going to take alot more time than you think. And goodluck getting both sides the same.
