Mani+reeds or msd+flywheel

What's the best upgrade? New manifold (unsure of breed but will probably be php) with v force 2 reeds or a msd enhancer with a lightened flywheel. Will be going on a ported 760 with b pipe and Ada head

Cheers

Depends on how tuned ur carbs/intake are and the condition of the reeds. The mani is inconsequential if the carbs are tuned and reeds are clean. The mani is a convenience item but it is a helluva upgrade over OEM. The lightened FW is nice with the MSD. I've ridden MSD's back to back against OEM CDI and not noticed a ton of diff...especially with rev limit mod on OEM. It's a toss up. If it was my setup, I'd lean towards the FW/MSD but if u pull ur carbs regular the PHP mani is sweet.

Alot depends on what your current setup is now.

Vforce reeds and cages are a great upgrade versus stock reeds and cages setup. Upgrading a manifold is usually done when upgrading to a/m carbs. What mani and carbs setup do you have now?

MSD enhancer is a great upgrade to stock cdi with a higher rev limit and better timing curve.

I just picked up an apt total loss system for a great price so that means the msd is out of the equation. @JetManiac i have a complete standard 64x bottom end with the original reeds and manifold running the oem mikuni 44s, so from what I've heard a reed upgrade is worth the money, but what about the manifold? Good performance upgrade or mostly a convenience item?

Trash the OEM reeds immediately, I'm assuming they are the stainless steel type... Even if you keep the stock manifold, get carbon petals from boyesen, etc.
