Mat removal

Hello, I just bought a 91 sj. I need to replace the mat material. Are there any tips and tricks to getting this old material off?

Rapid Remover. Spray it on an exposed glue edge, wait a few seconds, work it in there, as you pull the pad away, work the spray in, occasionally add more. Wash off with water.

Nah I think I'll go with plastic paint scraper and solvent jeezeee dudes.

I can't tell if it was a joke or not like my goodness.

"Baxter, you used the angle grinder, and the multi tool? I'm not even mad Baxter, I'm impressed!"

I wanna see if there's youtubes of this action, so little, jet ski video mod footage out there.

Please expand on the angle grinder skill, like, wire wheel it to death?

EDIT : Oh, they aren't kidding.

Imma put the ski in the sun all day, then go at it with solvent or just goo gone and scraper, should be easier lol, this is wildddddddddd.

DOUBLE EDIT : Galaxy brain - Attach sherwin williams heavy duty paint scraper to multitool with garage shennanigans, Sherwin multi tool scraperrrrrrr.

On a Superjet tray that's getting covered with padding and turf I see nothing wrong with using an angle grinder , I also used on on the VXR 1100 I am rebuilding , it's not so much the size of the tool as it is how you use it.

Man y'all must be smooth, I'm shaky like that dude from back to the future just thinking about it.

What happens if you knick the hull? I'm new to watercraft I guess they are not so delicate?

Screw it I have an angle grinder let's go. I gotta do this to mine soon anyways.

It's not so bad under the tray where turf will cover up any nicks in the tray. The angle grinder with a flapdisk isn't as harsh as you might think. It also removes gel cost quickly.

I could sign my name with an angle grinder and have used one on everything from grinding fiberglass and gelcoat to reshaping seat foam so yeah I guess you could say smooth,
