Maybe the new best way to store registration and insurance

Ok so after installing a limiting rope and a hood strap kit from freeride innovations. I've realized that it would be a real PITA to get my paper work out on the water.

So I was a little board today and I kept throwing ideas around of how I could fix this problem. I just so happened to have small watertight pelican case laying around I would use on float trips to keep licenses keys and smokes In. And the light bulb went off. My pole pad I had was doing fine but couldn't I use this pelican case as a pad. So I started playing around to see if it would work.

And it does so here are some pics to show you what I did and maybe some of you guys could do the same.

The case is really strong. Pelican makes some great products. We use them at work and they get thrown around and abused. But I did take two pieces of turf and flipped them on top of each other to glue the diamonds together. That gives some good air pockets and makes it kind of like a suspension system. It has a quarter inch of squish to it so I hope it helps. I also took my pole and slammed it down a few times and the case didn't crack and the "suspension" system seems to work.

I run a pretty tight pole to so idk how hard it truly would slam down but we will see. My biggest concern was that on a big sub or something it would rip off. I put some pretty good force on pulling it back towards me and it is stout. I don't think It will. Might have a chance to get out tomorrow and I'll let everyone know how it works!!

Aquapak has a smaller clasp. It fits under your vest better.

Well ride report. Took it out today and ran a tank through it. Didn't have a chance to hit many waves but did hit hard enough to bend my steering cable somehow. But all in all case is still intact and papers are still dry. Subbed hard a few times and still solid on the base.

Only complaint I have at the moment is it does throw the bars pretty far up in the air so a recessed or lower profile one would be great. I might try to bring it closer to the rear of the ski to get the bars to sit a little lower.

All in all I'm pretty happy I'll keep everyone posted and if there's any other Ideas let's hear them.

What's wrong with just laminating your papers and taping them inside your hood? Or under hood in a drybag, they are cheap insurance for your insurance papers.

When a cop asks to see it in the water tell him you must go near shore or risk damage/sinking your hull.

I put everything in a sealed bag into my squarenose fire extinguisher holder in my tray. Works awesome.

I had a cop one time wouldn't let me ride till I showed him my papers. I guess they were doing routine stops and anyone that wasn't legit were getting towed back to the ramp.
