My 12 year old is going to do as much of the labor as possible. It's time the boy learned. He sees it as his ski, and it is, but it's also my backup ski, my wife's ski, and a loaner ski for any buddy that may go ride with me that needs one.
This is day one. Junior is put to work removing what's left of the turf.
Next he will be cutting into the tray and resealing all the fittings, glassing in the huge drain holes, filling it with polystyrene, and reglassing it.
Then it will get a aluminum pump shoe, all inserts checked out and repaired as necessary, body work/repair, sanded, painted, turfed, built, and graphics.
The boy has to start somewhere. In two years he will be 14 and can legally go ride surf with the local crew.
I have a 727, pump, and an ignition ready to go for it. He will need a pipe, pole, steering, and various other tidbits to finish it.
