Measuring squish...?

I was gonna smash some solder and send it to the machine shop with me neighbor tomorrow but it didn't crush lol... How big should the solder be to start? It was 1/6 inch...

U are hoping for the .040"-.060" range.

Did you stick that solder in all the way to the cylinder wall? was it parallel to the piston pin?

1/6" is massive!

I had to use even thicker solder (that doesn't want to crush...) squish is .068...
only getting 175lbs out of my 4mm BB with 35 domes
