Mechanic problems!!

So I brought my ski to a shop to have them figure out why it wouldn't start even though it had everything it needed. The said they think they figured it out but blew the starter in my ski (550). They said they would look around and see if they had a spare but I was just wondering if this is something I should pay for if it is 100% on them. I don't see why it should be on me if they broke it but that's why I'm askin. Thanks

I wouldn't consider it their fault unless they were doing something out of the ordinary to the starter.

Well, what did they say was the problem? Did they negligently damage the starter? It's a very old part and it's not their fault it failed.

I guess maybe if they melted it by cranking it excessively then that would be one thing but it's unlikely that happened. It's more than likely just an old, crappy part, and they are looking for a spare to save you money.

That's why I got out of my 650sx and have a Superjet. That old 650sx just had way too many crap parts and everything kept breaking.
