SX/SXi/SXi Pro Metal Plates in the PRO hull as well?!

I know that the sx hulls have those metal plates in the nose next to the tank and than in the tray just behind the bulkhead. But do the pro hulls have these as well?

I picked up my hull bare with footholds and someone did a chytty job installing them. (waterlogged tray) So I need to tear them back out so I was curious if I should be on the look out for while im carving out wet foam.

tray area... I suppose to be more specific in the bottom deck of the sx hulls just behind the bulkhead under all that foam there are metal plates glued to the right side (starboard) just as they are on the front nose.

Yes, there is metal plates in the rear tray area on the SXi Pros. when i cut my rear tray area out for my X2 Trim mod, i noticed i was going through quite a few blades...turns out, there was metal embedded in the fiberglass..lol.

maybe used for weight balance? I noticed mine floats tilted to the left. It is pretty extreme now since I took out the water box and run a FP mod pipe with silencer.

Dude Im doing some intense glass work to a 92 Sx and I just finished my tray but after seeing this thread I'm gonna go back and cut that thing out this wkend. But if I cut this thingback open and there's not one there ilk be a lil agitated.. anyone know for sure? I knew about the one in the bow but one in the tray??

i had a 94 hull never gutted the tray but there was on on the right side (carb side) of the motor but was removed when i bought it now i have a 92 hull and it has one and i tried heating it up and prying it off but it just flexed the side of the hull and i didnt want a big hole to be in the side if i broke it off. How can you get them off nice and easy. and do you think that the ones in the tray will make that big of a difference if they are in or out of the hull? i just re did my 750 with turf and paint last spring and dont wanna have to redo turf.

I def do not think its worth tearing in to your ski just for the fact of pulling them out... just one of those while in there type deals. I just like removing as much dead weight as possible

No. I've pryed them out of two hulls now, an sx and my sxi. One came out really easy, the other came out with a piece of the hull. I tried everything, heat, adhesive remover, etc and just resorted to a big pry bar and doing patch work after getting them out.

Not sure about the front but I stumbled upon this in the rear after finding a crack with rust in it and a little digging turned unto a little cutting. This is a 96 Sxi hull. Fortunately I was swapping to a 98 Sxi Pro hull.
