Mid shaft moved?

Hey guys, I just pulled the motor out of my 96 superjet to put on a b-pipe on and re-jet the carbs. Before I put the motor back in I tried to hook up the bilge bracket and it wouldn't fit with the pump on. Anyways I just figured I got the wrong part bit them when I dropped the motor back in and lined everything up I noticed about a 3/8 gap in the couplers. I'm assuming my mid shaft pushed in but I'm not sure how or why? Any ideas what caused this or how I can fix it? Thanks

My did this too in my rickter. It eventually backed all the way in to where they weren't touching anymore. I was told it's from hitting the bottom all the time. I do hit the nose in a lot and I guess the mounts were having a rubber band effect and banging the midshaft in

Couldn't ride it prop wouldn't spin bc the couplers came apart. I put the midshaft back where it had to go and rode it three more times and just pulled everything apart and it didn't move.
