I never put a screw back in one I get it out.... my carbs cost to much and screws are cheap. Look up the mcmaster carr thread and you will see the part num and size to order. the money spent on a box of 20 or so is very worth it!

You can even get half-stripped ones out if you do it right.
1. Use the right size screwdriver
2. Seat it fully into the head
3. Hit the screwdriver with a hammer a few times
4. Slowly, forcefully turn the screwdriver.
5. If it doesn't come out, you're doing it wrong.

Yes, i second using the correct size #1 and #2 is needed, dont cut corners

Perfect plan if you only ride in the fresh water. I have skis that are well maintained, ridden frequently, flushed every ride, just down right babied, but when I open the carbs to inspect them, there is always corrosion on something and the heads have a little bit of rust.

The right size screw driver doesn't keep things that are worn out from being worn out. The rebuild kit should include those screws.

The local dealer orders them, $8 each.

I'm always buying older skis cause I'm not a baller and the carbs always seem to need work... the last pair were filled/clogged with dirt. Dirt in the gas tank and all...

I used the right screwdriver.
I left overnight in penetrating oil.
I hammered it.
I still did it wrong. lol

I ended up drilling the tops off the screws, popping the other piece out and using pliers to back them out..
It worked, just need new screws now.

I just wish the rebuild kits would include those 2 screws. it can't cost that much extra...

Does anyone want order me a box from mcmaster and ship them up here to me?
Mcmaster wont ship to Canada anymore

JSS sells a rebuil kit that is nice and replaces all screws. Worth the money.

You can find them at ur local hardware store too.

I have always used penetrating oil and an impact screwdriver to do the trick. Worked everytime.

X2. Impact screwdrivers have saved me tons of headaches. They are less than $10 at Harbor Freight or Ace.

I've got that, and then I got a battery powered impact. They are each a huge step above the last.

I bought this last ski from a friend that only rode it 3 times in the past year which is probably the problem. The battery powered impact got 3 of 4 out and I drilled the head on the 4th. They are all getting replaced and there was no way around it.
