Misfire when Hot

I bought this ski and it doesn’t run well when it’s hot.

I already replaced the ignition coil with a OCD rebuilt and the symptoms are still there.

The ski won’t go above 1/4 throttle after 3-5 gallons of fuel. So I checked the stator and found the following specifications.

Pulser coil: 3V when cranking (specs say 4-5V)
Pulser coil resistance: 14.5ohm (specs say 12.6 to 15.4)
Charge coil: 535ohm (specs say 497 to 608)
Lighting coil: 1.4ohm (specs say 1.14 to 1.40)
Lighting coil resistance to ground: 160k ohm and 3M ohm
Charge coil: 35.5V when cranking (specs say 30 to 50)

I am concerned the pulser coil output is low and the continuity between lighting coil to ground. (Leakage to ground). Can I be certain that I need a new stator? Also the white with red trace on the CDI has burnt looking insulation. Perhaps both are bad? $$$$$

Only once for me but it was a CDI. What year ski is it?

1996 but everything was swapped. A Dasa once lived in here.

I am going to swap a CDI. I just looked and the CDI was modified to remove the rev limiter.

It has a 61x CDI with, what I believe is a 62t stator. The 61x CDI had a male end and the stator has a male end. Previous owner had created a female to female jumper wire

Its not the CDI. The symptoms now exist when cold. I’m going to try the stator next

I was going to say the charge coil on stator going bad when it was a bad when hot situation. Have you tried disconnecting the stop/lanyard plug and testing again yet?

No I haven't tried disconnected the stop/lanyard plug. I contacted the previous owner and he suggested the same thing because it ran well for him in fresh water.

I tried a fresh stator and it’s not the start/stop switch. Maybe next step is to go in the carb?

I regret buying another jet ski. I paid $5000 to spend my summer in the garage. I could’ve went on vacation instead :/

I borrowed the CDI from a friend. The spark is a bright blue color.
I pulled the head before. The rear cylinder looks like the problem and looks milky. I checked the ada head rings and the shell isn’t worn. Maybe the water drained back from the head pipe?

I checked the jetting on the carb and I need to correct it.. I hope this is the problem

61x/62t motor

stock flame arrestor with 1 screen

Now it does it all the time.
