Mock Jetski on Trampoline for training

Yes, this may sound crazy, but I'm looking to make some sort of "mock" jetski for a trampoline. Something that would be soft if landed on, ideally. Basically all I care about are handlebars and footholds. A fixed handlepole would probably be best I'm thinking. Let's see if anyone has some ideas. Let the brainstorming begin!

We used to tie a waterski rope to a tree and simulate flips and rolls on a trampoline. I don't think the action of a jetski really transmits the same though. The physics of it are just so different.

Yea I've used trampolines in the past for wakeboard training. Working on muscle memory for handle passes on spins, etc. plus, it's just so incredibly fun!

I've thought about using a wakeboard handle as simulating the handlebars, but being attached to a tree doesn't help a whole lot when you're doing a backflip (like a jetski backflip).

My goal is to instill muscle memory for doing spins and flips while taking limbs off. And who knows, maybe superflip training

I've been thinking of pool noodles, but not sure about a structure that could keep them together beyond some sort of welded yada yada.

As always, the best practice is doing it on the actual sport (wakeboard/jetski), but learning things on a trampoline is a proven training mechanism for many pro wakeboarders, usually with less risk of injury.

Nerf swords? I was just thinking about something like this a few weeks ago. But mine was more like a video game/trainer to help you get a feel for barrel rolls and such. I thought, if there was a way to mount up a gutted hull or like that, and have it on a platform that could do 360 overhead rotations. Of course I was thinking that it would be up to an arcade machine manufacturer to build since they have the experience and resources, but it was just something in mind like how they used to build the sport bike arcade bikes...Sega used to make them, does anyone remember Hang On?

Super rough sketch that I just did on my iPhone, but I'm liking the PEX idea. It's bendable, but also has some structure to it. I couldn't picture it snapping easily and puncturing me/trampoline too as easy as PVC. I think they make some larger sizes of it too. I've only used PEX for water lines.

I spent a lot of quarters on that machine back in the day. Was always my favorite

I am imagining two poles on each side of the trampoline with a few bungee cords attached to a set of handlebars centered on the trampoline. You would have some resistance and also movement. You could also have a short ski rope you could attach that would let you if you were good enough do back flips and mock rolls while not keeping you centered on the center axis of the bungee.

I think you are wasting your time and more likely to get hurt on the trampoline with any apparatus. Just go in the water and fail away. Water is pretty forgiving the last 100 times I bailed. You need the true weight of the ski and on the trampoline there is no throttle to control. You could do the same thing just flipping around by yourself on the trampoline IMO.

Of course I have always wanted a pair of jumping stilts.

Stoyer use to train on a Trampoline. Dont care what people say, He has been one of the best riders for the past 10 years. Riders have come and gone. He has always been around. He rides better when not on a 2 minute clock.
