Mods for a stock class sxr

I have an 06' sxr. what can I do and still race legal in IJSBA and APBA? jetworks flow control valve? rear sponsons? ride plates? intake grates? and what is the best products for that? have done some reading but would like to hear directly from the boys on the X!

Tow loop
can add weight if you want
then there is alot of advanced stuff you can do
Ive read pages and pages of stock class set ups. Dont think ive seen two that are identical

A lot of stock class racing at the regional level, especially in novice class is about rider ability. The best source for information is over at PWCtoday just search what mod you want to do and there is probably a debate over that mod.

Depending on setup, some people are getting just as good of results with the stock air box. It all in getting the tuning dialed.

The problem is there are 2 rule books. You have the IJSBA (world finals) and APBA (national races) books. I would sugest starting with mods that are legal for both. then decide if you are going to WF's. I am in the process of ditching my stocker for a limited so I have some items I could hook you up with if you come down. Shoot me a PM if interested.

Well Thanks for the help guys I don't have alot of money and really want to some back down for any and all region 3 events. thats more in my range of travel. I also have a chance to get down to southern California and run with Justin Black and the Monster Energy Seadoo crew live with Justin and go where they go type thing. Their couch racers but there pretty impressive. but there would be some opportunitys there. I am not planning on racing at the world finals i would like to go check it out next year. well see. but due to the lack of elmoooney! $$ i figured i would see what is recommened before I bought. like ride plate and intake grate. and If I could i think I would go TBM but my money tree isn't fully grown yet : )

Everyone will have a different answer for rideplates it seems. Except most agree r and d doesnt work. For me atleast on a r and d its straight up or way leaned over. No inbetween. Jet Dynamics lean alot. I see alot of the top guys running Macc or TBM plate with a TBM or Skat intake grate

but they also cant prove how much was in there before
say it was less then two mm and then your fine

it really is all about rider ability, i'm sponsored by R&D so i have my whole boat setup for stock spec class with thier parts, i was used to a stock and macc plate and took me a while to get used to where to put the ski with the R&D plate but PRACTICE PRACTICE PRACTICE will get you perfect.

I cannot agree with this more. ive never tried my stocker but the r&d if your not leaning all the way or staying straight, your sliding.

I had that issue with the Macc plate. It was too much for me although I only weigh 140lbs. I went back to the stocker and carve much better. I am waiting to get my hands on a TBM though
