Other mods please read. idea to improve pics/vids section

there is a great sking community site, similar vibe as the x that is a solid model to use as an example, that would be worth checking out. they make separate sections for pics and vids. within those they break down into catagories, latest uploads, BC, park, tramp...side note: trampoline edit on a standup???, but anyway that way you get a better break down of new videos and pics. You can rate and post comments and easily scroll through the main page cherry picking good looking vids or watch one and easily hit next. i think that a more navigable pic and vid section is what this site is missing. you could compress the flat water, freestyle, how-to... sections into these two sections clearing up space on the home page. What do people think??

i know but by making a more user friendly showcase dont you think we will see more ski vids showing a bit more creativity and editing? this can only be a good thing. it will give younger kids ideas, answer questions and increase the x traffic. i alos forgot to post the name of the site i was refering to, Newschoolers.com

I've had both Coppermine and Photoplog installed here over the years but they got very little use and had all those features.

I'm up for trying again, but past experience with 2 different setups wasn't good.

or even just reorganizing how they are laid out. instead of clumping it all together. post vids here, then have vids of the day or week but from users, idunno i was just really craving some good ski vids and youtube is the same ten douche bags with their dual exhaust rxp that doesnt do chit or some guy flat spinning his standup for 5 mins. and when you go into the section for vids and pics theres no way of telling what is what its just all there at once and i give up. it would be as simple, like i said, as just re-arainging the layout, i dunno know tho.

Have you actually looked in the Featured Video or Pics & Vids forums? Tons of videos to looks through.

Do we even have the amount of vids needed to support something like that? This is a rather small site compared to the one you're talking about.
