I guess with the new "back-flip" hulls being made, and everybody off in "Malone land", the Monkey tricks have pretty much been phased out? Even if someone wanted to do one, on the new hulls, there's nothing on the nose to grab. wtf??!

Be nice to see some old Skool freestyle tricks. What was the name of the trick that you rode backwards standing in front of the pole with your feet skimming the top of the water? Australian back something? That was awesome looking. And it took some skill to do it

Backwards barefoot Australian is what I always called it. It took me a while but I can still bust out the old school tricks with my BOB. I do a sprung monkey instead of a monkey jump now. At first it was sketchy with no lip on the nose but I realized I hold on more on the side of the nose rather than on the nose

The big motor is the problem, not the hull.

Just sayin, Regardless of whether the engine is too powerful, or not, most of the older freestyle riders I've seen, use the tip of the nose to grab for those tricks. The newer ones are smooth with nothing to grab, and nobody does those tricks anymore.

There are only a few a/m hulls that don't have the bond line in the front. Most of them do

It doesn't matter, they're apparently not needed anyway. Nobody does the tricks that really require that holding area anymore. Special thanks to numerous f/w backys in a row.

one of my favorite tricks was the 50/50 (ballbuster into a monkey jump) Since riding the Vision, it's no longer possible cause I can't seem to be able to get my feet to clear the handlebars.
I was also thinking of maybe installing some kind of grab handle in the front...then I can throw myself in front of it

Mike D's is definitely the man on a round nose! What really helped him is he stayed busy and moving his whole routine. Most of the other guys were taking their time and didn't do much.
