Super Jet Motor locked up!!??

What could be the reasons my motor is locked up? It wont budge. Its not anything with the pump and nothing under the stator cover. I started the ski on the swim platform of my boat cause I had to jump it. As soon as it fired up i got the hood on within 15 seconds of it running, pushed it into the water and rode about 20 feet and it just cut out. Thought i mistakingly hit the stop button but come to find out it wont even turn. I was trying backflips all day prior to this and definitly had a ton of water in the hull at times. I would initially think it locked up cause water was in there but that doesnt make sense because the motor fired up and was running. Any ideas before I tare it down?

Can you turn it over by hand with the plugs out? Been seeing lots of failed battery and starter cables lately, on top of the usual failed starters and batteries.

If it won't turn over by hand, and you have already eliminated the pump, stator, starter, bendix, flywheel etc, yank the 4 bolts to the mounts so you can remove the coupler damper and seperate the drivetrain completely. If the motor still won't turn over by hand, you are at least a couple steps ahead on yanking the engine.

If you suspect the engine is in fact seized, pulling the head is the fastest way to really find out. Head gaskets are cheap if it turns out to be good still.

Yeah i've already pulled plugs and it wont turn by hand or even by vice grips on coupler. Definitly isolated to something internal on engine. I wouldn't think its a piston seized, I mean it wasn't even fully warmed up when it happened so i dont think it overheated. Guess it's time to pull the head. It just seems like a stange one to me.

Well first I inspected the pump from the front and rear to see if anything was jammed in there and there wasnt. Plus there is some play between the motor/pump coupling and I can see the pump side move a smidge where the motor side doesn't at all.

i hope for your sake its a bubbled wear ring, if the prop isnt on the bubble youd still have play. or...not good stuff

Ended up being the crank bearings. Good time for a different motor setup while its all apart. Any reccomendations for a good 760-800cc ported top end setup? Currently have 62T cylinders so it will be nice to have more bottom end! Still would like to hit 50+ mph though
