300/440/550 motor swap

hello i am new to jet skis, i was wondering how easy these are to swap bigger motors in? i am looking at a 91 and it only has a 300 in it. are they simple and most motors will bolt in? thanks.

For a 300 the easiest motor to swap would be the 440.It will bolt up pretty easy in the 300.550 swap would be a little bit harder.

I have never seen inside a 300 hull but I know a 440 and 550 motor are practically the same. So I would think a 550 would fit with no issues if a 440 fits

300 hull is identical to 440/550 JS

the 300 SX on the other hand is a MUCH different n smaller hull.

with the standard 300 hull you can bolt a 440/550/550sx motor right in with not custom modifications needed besides supporting mods.

the 300/300sx/440 all share the same pump...the 550 n 550sx are NOT the same.



If you wont the most power will keeping it super easy as far as swap goes....then look for a 550sx motor

what engine can i put in a 300sx hull easily? Id like to keep the original pump in it and not do alot of chopping and glassing.

300/300sx/400/440 all share same pump...


400/440/550/550sx will be your easiest swap. but if you choose to go 550 or 550sx keep in mind they run larger pump.
