msd dip switch instructions.

I have read other threads on here about setting MSD up but I cant find dip switch instructions for the total loss i have. The dip switch diagram i found is shown in the picture attached. Anyone have a document explaining all the dip switches.

The MSD site has static timing an installation instructions but not a dip switch explanation.

I can find instruction on a different model total loss in attached pdf which mostly explains it if this works the same as my model. I have attached PDF but the part number and dip switches are different.

This 4244 part number pdf has some differences and I am confused with a few settings.

- why my msd have deg+15 with two numbers for max speed retard.

- If i set max timing to MAX the pdf says for the other part that this is setings retard to -5.

- its missing these so i dont know what they do
- - max/min rev limit +4000 RPM
- - max retard retard +15
- - elec start
start ret
retard begin rpm

you want the electric start on, it pulls initial timing to allow the machine to start easier.

you want S1 on Switch 1 off, you dont want to add 4000rpm to your rev limit.

you want your retard +15 switch on, it gives you more options when setting your retard.

if i have retard +15 on do u read the second value of deg+15. So 2/17 is actually max speed retard 17 degrees. And when retard +15 is off 2/17 is 2 degrees. Is thay right.
