MSD No Spark

Ok I know there are plenty of posts on here about this but I didn't see the answers I needed so here it is again. My stuff is new and I followed the instructions when installing it (not really that hard after doing it once). I don't have any spark when turning the motor over by hand. I checked my switches and S4 is off. The LED flashes at TDC for both cylinders (not sure if it should do this with the switch off but it does). My grounds all look good so I followed some advice on here about jumping the pick up wires to check the coils. It worked and I got spark on both plugs when jumping the wires. So now what? The brain has power, the coils seem to be good and the motor will turn over when I press the button so my lanyard switch must be wired correctly. I must have done something dumb. The battery is good by the way. I did wire the violet and red wire together into a fuse prior to the relay (recommended as a switch alternative) and honestly the plug wires, especially the first one were kinda hard to make so I could have screwed one of those up but not both. Anyways a little help or suggestions would be great.

I have had a few of these boxes. With the s4 switch in the off pos which is the run position the led should not flash when the magnet passes the triggers. It will flash a steady sequence in the run mode when you kill the engine and the switched power still has power on it thou.
I have never tried the violet and red wired together. Sounds like someone told you that is ok but the box will draw a small amount of voltage if the switched power leg has 12volts all the time and I would think that is going to be hard on your battery over time. Could try to seperate them and use a switch on the violet wire as it is intended that way. Still the box led blinking while in the run position I don't think is correct, I may be wrong thou. Good luck...

The s4 selector on switch 1's whole purpose is EITHER led operate OR engine operate. The fact the led dose blink in run mode can't be rite. Maybe a bad pot on that switch or something else inside the brain not happy. No brain=no spark? I know you said its new but...
My box is mounted to an alum plate which the black box wire and the coils are connected/grounded to. I also use a large battery style cable to go from that plate to the motor. That's all I got....:)

Did you ground the correct side of the coils? Ground the coils to engine and to common ground? Ground everything. Ground. Ground. Ground. Make sure your air gap is right. Could be close to edge of range so works just sometimes. Could be stop switch of start stop switch is bad. Remember to put lanyard on? On off switch turned on? Systematically eliminate possibilities.

The coils are labeled which side to ground. You can't screw it up. Air gap must be right because the LED is picking them up. Lanyard is on but I do think the issue is my switch wiring. My current question is can the start switch allow the relay to open to send power to the starter but still be wired wrong and tell the brain that the lanyard is out. Two wires go to relay, one to the pink wire and one to ground. I may mess with those.

I'm no MSD savant, but first place I'd look, based on ur symptoms, is the power supply that attaches to the relay. If its on the wrong post the ski won't fire. I've been there before.

I ve been at work all day but after some thought I'm gonna run through all my switches with MSD Tech Support in the morning to make sure I'm not doin something dumb. That seems to me to be the most logical after the troubleshooting I did last night.
