MSD TL Max 25 degree advance?

Hey guys,

I have a brand new MSD TL system for my 701 superjet motor. I bought it for the sole purpose of gaining additional advance, but with my stator plate turned all the way counter clockwise and my last 3 switches pulling nothing back out I can only gain a maximum of 25 degrees of advance.

My initial thoughts were that I had been supplied the incorrect stator plate, but apparently I have the correct one. So now my stator plate is at the machine shop getting the slots extended so that I can get more than 25 degrees.

So people have heard of this before, others haven't... Does this sound right to anyone on here?

You don't have S3 of Switch 2 on by any chance? Unless the pickup mounting points and the stator plate slots are in the wrong location, there can't be too much wrong. I've set up several new digital systems and never seen this.

I think that I have only seen this problem once and it was a very long time ago, and I'm thinking it was on a Kawasaki 750.
We have installed probably 50 or so in the last few years and no problems with getting lots of stactic timing at the plate, now I do sometimes have issues with the pickups timing them the same.
