Super Jet MSD Total Loss question

I've got my total loss installed. Jetworks set the static timing for me and he had labelled the stator wires 1 and 2, but they fell off during shipping. I've now got the 4 stator wires paired correctly, but I don't know which pair of wires is cylinder 1 and which is cylinder 2. How do i find out which is which?

Hook up the plug wires and crank.
If it starts, everything is good.
If it blows your Waterbox to :):):):), swap plug wires.

And replace the Waterbox. Lol

i'm really tired, pull one pair of wires from the connecter if you really want to know. when the led light comes on you'll know which pickup is reading for which cylinder. if the front is at tdc and led on then the wiring is correct and coil 1 with the brown wire is hooked up to the front. the rear cylinder the pickup goes to yellow and coil 2 has a yellow wire. if i'm still speaking in jibberish i'll come back in the morning. good luck!

That would work in a perfect world but MSD's QC is a bit hit and miss meaning the coil harness wire colors coming out of the ignition don't always match the colors going in. I did the old plug it in and see. PFP waterboxes do not like this and go from square to round faster than you crap your pants when it backfires.

Good, I'm glad I'm not the only one that's happened to.

You could also hook up an ohm meter to one of the sets of wires and turn the crank in the correct direction and watch for the resistance to jump. When the resistance jumps very slightly, the piston that is coming up is the one you're on. This is basically the same as turning the LED switch on but works if the LED is broken or if you're lazy and don't want to pull the brain to flip the dip switch.
