I WANNA GO FAST!!
Well I am new to the X and just bought my 1st ski ever today!! I have grown up on water my entire life, been riding skis since I don't know...a long time ago. I have more experience riding sit downs but I am making a transition into stand ups. I had some $$$ laying around so I called around and this is what I came up with. Let me know what you guys think and give me some suggestions to make it better. Thanks for lookin'!

I WANNA GO FAST!!
Absolutely!! I live in Birmingham as well, but I will be keeping it out on Smith Lake and Gutnersville. I am going to pick it up at the end of the month and then I am breaking out the wetsuit. I can't wait to get it on the water and see what it can do. Here are some more specs that I just got on it.

760cc ported Group K motor with a Pro Tec girdled head kit, Factory Pipe, custom intake manifold, High Performance Dual 44mm Mikuni carbs

Skat Trak 12 vein set back pump w/ custom Skat impeller, Pro Tec steering nozzle kit, Worx Dominator ride plate, Jet Dynamics scoop intake

Custom air induction hood, updated 96+ year model handlepole, tubbie sponsons, UMI sealed bearing steering plate, AP Designs chin pad and tray mat, Bilge pump w/ external switch.

great looking boat, you stepped into it big time!

ride it for now, and if you decide you want to jump instead of going fast, you might look into the impeller and possibly replace with a lower pitch, and replace that extended ride plate with a stocker.

lower pitch impeller = more bottom end snap

short ride plate = nose of the boat higher

It looks to already have a RN pole, so possibly shorten it if you are going this route

and of course, footholds when you want them.

for now though, ride that sweet beast.

Welcome to the X.:beerchug:
Good looking ski. That set up should be pretty fast.
I would think you need to mix a little race gas with a ported 760/ dry pipe set up. Did the previous owner mention what type of fuel they ran?
YAMA CAT and I live in Pinson and ride at Smith, Tuscaloosa, Demopolis, Logan Martin ( on occasion) and Guntersville. We have a pretty good "flock" of stand up riders.
Oh, and if you're at Smith and see a guy on a bright green SJ ...............
that would be the Gillinator:nana: Sorry gill I had to.
Hit us up for a ride.
