My 2014 Superjet "build"

Well I wasn't going to make a "build" thread for two reasons
1: not sure it's a build being a new ski
2: I didn't think I'd be doing as much as I have to it this fast.

But I see others with 2014 builds and I figured what the hell it will be a good way for me to keep a record and look back on.

Bought my SJ on sept 4th around 6pm, and took it to the water and rode until sundown!

Took it out that weekend and rode all weekend burned through so many tanks. Hah. Broke my toe too.

Met up with some locals and rode for a little.

Then the mods began. I ordered a bilge bracket which I had trouble fitting but in the end bent it to work. Drilled my first hole in the side! Then one in the dashboard for the rotary switch.

I cut my ride plate down and also D cut it.

Put flame Arrestors on it at some point.

Other than that stuff that was it for a while.

I took it in surf a few times and fell in love, but learned I needed some more turning capabilities and power!

I came across a factory pipe locally priced just right so you know I had to pick it up!

I kept having problems with my rotary switch so I bought an OCD Solutions Tidy Bilge and surf armor switch.

And what the hell I figured lets shorten the pole! So I took it off and that's where I'm at so far.

I drilled mine and threaded it so I could add some small bolts to it. You are going to need to do that and adjust them so you don't bottom out your steering cable as well. You might also call Xmetal and see what they recommend.

Why put the stock flame arrestor back on?

Water gets on the more exposed filters of the arrestors. The stock water box is great but restrictive so taking out all but one screen makes it flow great. All you need the filter to do is keep large debris out. Unless you plan on riding down a dirt road with a rope behind a truck. ;)

I want to add that all this I am just learning from some pretty awesome people both on here and local to me, and I thank them.

I think you've missed what I'm worried about... The 2014 is completely different.. Stop is cast with the pole, further back it would appear, and my turn plate barley contacts the stop. I can imagine that a hard enough slam will make it go right by the stop.

Although xscream says it will be ok, I don't trust it, and I think it was their way of pushing me off. I told them they need to redesign or stop selling these to 2014 customers. Possibly 2013's too
