My 750SX (Australia)

Hi Everyone. I have just bought my first pole ski. I would like to learn freestyle in the surf. I live in Brisbane Australia. If any one has a riding group on the weekend let me know I will travel up to two hours. I have attached pic of the ski when i bought it. The ski is currently being striped and will be re-gelcoated in either bright yellow with black accents or silver with black. Current modifications are factory pipe aftermarket carb (Kennith), Ocean pro rider plate and intake. I will be installing new foot holds, hydroturf and twin carbs next. I know every one has superjets for freestyle, but i want to try both and see which on I prefer. Thanks guys and feel free to leave any comments.

save your money on the duals. 750 engine does not need to have dual carbs. Ignition advance and lightend flywheel is all that is needed. If you have the blue keihin, keep that carb, its the best one for the 750's. Bump up your compression and your all set.

Thanks for the input I'll try both and see which I like. I have decided to re-gel coated the ski as I'm fussy on looks. The ski has been totally striped and half of the hull has been sanded. Getting tubbies and foot holds. Looking for input for which rider plate and intake for the ski? Should I get rear sponsens (Spelling?)?

if you plan on surfriding run footstraps instead of footholds..much more functional for surfriding..good luck with your ski...

my uncle has a ocean pro ride plate on his 750sx with a r&d single large scoop grate. The ride plate is one of the ones with wavy fins on the bottom. looks like scallops when viewing it from the rear...

Compared to an old buddies ski that had a WORX extended ride plate and the same scoop grate, the ocean pro plates feels surprisingly better.

edit: found a pic

Gel coat refers to polyester which is a no-no on SMC, which is what the 750SX is made of. Do you mean paint? The only gel-coat type substance would be an epoxy based coating, which is what I plan to use on my lower hull.

Hi Guys.
Thanks for the input. I have been really busy with my biz and have only just finished sanding the whole ski and installing the tubbies. Footholds are cut and will be installed next week. I'll take some photos soon. I'm having trouble with cutting the fire extinguisher tubes. I was thinking of getting one of those air powered saws that looks like a jig saw but easer to get into confined spaces. As for riding groups i plan to hook up with ozfreeride and ozpwc. Hope to see you all riping on the gold coast and cant weight for the 21 January (OzFreeride show)!

Hi Waxhead. I have just got twin carbs:(. My Ski should be finished in two weeks. I'm going to try it with the single first then change to twins. Do you have a rinding group that you go with? if so I would like to come along. I just have to Learn how to rid my ski first as my previous ski was a Xp back in 1994. Also I'm looking for a wb1 for my girlfriend, if you know of any let me know. Thanks and I'm looking forward to shred with the Gold Coast crew:biggrin:

the jetdynmics will work well on that ski
The biggest and best thing you can do is to put tubbies on the front of it to help it rail the turns better

I got some more pics (took for waxhead to show him my trailer). Tubbies on footholds cut and will be on soon. Ski will be painted this coming week. I'm hoping to get it in the water before Christmas. Thanks again for the input guys.

I kidda miss my old 750, it was a fun starter boat.

I'm coming to Oz in 3 weeks, I can't wait, I wont be up to the east coast for another 4-5 weeks tho.

Any suggestions on what I should go see or do??

So where you going first. New South Wales? If so do the tourist things like see the Opera Ho, Sydney Harbor may be Blue Mountains. I highly recommend checking out Northern New South Wales. It is so beautiful. When you come to Queensland you should check out the Gold Coast hinterland, Glass House Mountains and Australia Zoo. I don't recommend that you go to any of the theme parks as you will just be disappointed.
