First, I can't take much credit for this ski's quality and set-up, I bought it from someone many of you know (can you guess - those who I haven't already told?). I did disassemble most of the ski, per usual, and put it back together to make sure everything was perfect. Did some wiring work, some homemade CF details to the hood, and worked with Abe at Northgraphics to get my latest company logo and graphic package together on it. (A.'s great to work with). Other than that, the previous owner gets all the credit.

Overall, it's super clean with a lot of attention to the fine details. Using it to ride with my wife while on her SXR, I have an FX1 build going on for my true freestyle/wake jumping ski.

Specs:
Riva 61x ported cyl
Riva girdle head, 35cc domes, ARP bolts
Factory Type IV drypipe
MSD TL, dual channel
40mm Mikuni I-body carbs (SXR style)*
Moto T Reeds
Skat 140mm 12 vein setback pump
Skat ext driveshaft
Skat 14/20 Swirl prop
R&D shoe
Sato nozzle
Wammers CCF ride plate
Worx grate
Umi bars/steering
PJS throttle and tiny tach

* I know, not typical. Going to try them, as the previous owner spent a lot of time making them fit with a custom intake adapter. Nice set-up, easy to pull for jet changes. Have the stock 38's if these don't work well.

The wiring for the TL/start soln. is tucked in behind the battery and exhaust hose. The previous owner also made a cool bracket for the coils that nests on the odyssey battery, and uses the batt straps to hold it.

I am really happy with this ski's shape, but haven't taken it out yet. Can't wait until spring...

Screw spring, do it now. Nothing a dry suit or some balls wouldn't take care of. But nice ski by the way.

being from MI. how did you manage to find out about the sale of this in Georgia

:sneaky:

After giving John a long list of parts I wanted for my FX1 build, he said "why don't you just buy my SJ, has all this and more". Knowing the value of the parts and his attention to detail, it made sense to me. Sent a check for the ski, called Unishippers, and for $231 in shipping it was in my driveway. I was supposed to use his TL, cyl, head, etc on my fx1, and put his to stock or working and sell it. But when I uncrated his ski, I realized I didn't have the heart to tear it apart, it was too nice.

So instead of 2 SXR's and an FX1 like the plan was, I have a roundie, FX1 and an SXR. Best of all worlds?

No, that's one of the few mods I get credit for

It was sold to me as a backfilp sticker, they were all out of sponges

Best of atleast two worlds. J/K. I would consider another SXR one day if I had the money, but I don't miss mine a bit. My girl friend on the other story misses it.

The plan was for us to get 2 SXR's and I'd have a freestyle ski for jumping wakes and messing around (my FX1). When John's ski entered the picture, and knowing John was more geared toward racing than freestyle, I thought I'd try this SJ instead of getting an SXR for me.

Joe, looks like a great ski. Curiously, what line of work are you in? "Behavior Uninhibited?"

Well I have a day job in engineering, own a real estate mgt company for night work, then on weekends I am in the middle of getting 'BU' up and running. Clothing/gear for individual sports like snowboard, skate, mountain biking etc

Focus on the 'not so' die hard, not-so extreme, but love it just as passionately.

Live, Love, Ride... in that order. Just following Maslow's advice
