So I purchased this hull along with two friends who also bought hulls from Steve probably three + years ago and lost motivation etc etc.... But I'm days away now from completion so here's some pics

Hull finally in my possession

So I'm a bit of a mcgiver and love trying to make parts myself so I took my SN handlepole and cut a poop load off it and had it re welded in hopes it would work while also making my own ez pull trim system and taking a 760 from a b2 I had and rebuilding it completely and installed full spec 46's and used 701 electronics.. Also got a broken PowerFactor and cut it apart and repaired it ... Found out how truly hard laying turf is but actually almost ready to (hopefully) float and ride the vessel lol this is how it currently sits waiting on just a waterbox and a trim cable

Holy riser bars batman!

I love love love the MacGyver stuff you've done. One suggestion on the ez pull is to add a cable keeper. Mcgyver'd something similar years ago on a FX1 and Thrust made cable keeper to solve my problem, the cable walking off.

Looks like you cut down a UMI aluminum pole too.

Haha thanks guys and yeah it was an AC racing pole and I'm actually still in the process of machining my cable keeper and another day passes as my waterbox and trim cable are a no show lol I hate being so close and having to wait

Where did you get that piece you have welded to your trim ring? I have been kicking around making a CATS, and I can weld aluminum.

Looks great man, glad you got back on the horse!

I think I remember you guys posting these up when you got them, did they arrive in a triple decker crate?

Yes jetFiend triple crated and missing our ride plates and good pins but all that is in the past lol

And yes I actually machined the trim arm on a Bridgeport and had my fabricator magician friend do all my welding since I can't weld aluminum

Got my waterbox in the mail today big thanks to neversatisfied for the deal and quick shipping ... Got some couplers and got it just about all together and it fired right up im pumped I can't wait to get it in the water and see if all my mcgivering will sink or swim lol

Last things I need to do is chin pad and trim cable (and then of course fixing up little things is endless lol)

So I'm kinda stuck ... Carbs aren't working with my limited knowledge of how to tune them... Mass amounts of oil/sludge is blasting out of the exhaust , and I really just want to ride it before the seasons totally over so I think I'm going to put my 701 from my snsj in it which I know runs solid and have some fun with it and diagnose the other issues over the winter.. That's the plan at least lol

Also got a trim cable for free from a great local dude so should have my knockoff trim setup done soon too , if I can make it work maybe this weekend will be the one I get to test it but my predictions on time frames have never been something taken seriously so we'll see

So I swapped in my 701

and was enraged to find out it did the same exact thing so after all that I called dan and he suggested I double check that the pink wire in the ebox was not grounded or connected which I knew at one time and was hesitant to check but took the box out and apart and what do Ya know lol grounded it purposely aparently for who the hell knows why but I did... Lots of wasted time lol but I'll have it back together and ready to test tomorrow or Sunday

Problem solved lol feel free to make fun of my idiocracy... I'm just gonna keep the 701 in for the last couple rides of the local season and I think I have my trim done and a chin pad just about ready

Any pros/cons/opinions on running an intake grate ? I have a couple and one that I already mocked up for welding but a lot of what I have been told is just don't run one ... Any thoughts ?
