hello i have a 89 x2 with 650. it starts and runs great ,good power when im not on it. just in the water and throttle it in a circle. then i jump on and it just bogges down to like at slow crawl in the water. i have tried cleaning the crab. and im just stumped can anyone point me in the right direction so i can get some rides in. thanks

This has happened to me before and still does. It will run fine then I get off to let my brother ride and it can't even get out if the water. I'm still trying to figure out what is going on, but usually I'll tune it a little and it will work ok for a little. I just replaced the reeds and nothing changed. Do you know what your compression is?

Hey guys, I had the exact same issue. I worked on it just about every day and replaced a ton of parts spending a bunch of money for about a month and a half. When I put it back together that last time that solved the issue I made a few changes which any could have been it but I believe it ended being the fuel selector. the Nob that you select between your main feed or your reserve line. Since removing that I have never had a single issue with the ski and still trailer with me riding so when my other ski acts up, old reliable is sitting there waiting.
But also check your carb/ intake gaskets, compression, tunning, plugs, trim spark plug wires back, and you oil-fuel ratio I had to lean the oil out a bit on min to be right.
