Howdy,

Can anyone recommend a good compression gauge kit?
I'm tired of using my harbor freight special to check for even compression but never getting close to an accurate number. I don't need anything snap-on or with a $200 price.

Thanks!

I'm just about to order this one to replace my ancient (20 years old!) tester. I have to give my old one credit though, with a cracked glass and gear clamped on hose it still does a good job of reading compression. But it is time to get something much more upgraded hehe. The new one is made by Mityvac, should be a rather high end unit since they are the standard for crank case pressure testing with Stihl chainsaws ( Mityvac was the only recommended tester by Stihl back in the day, might still be too :D )

I have been using a advance Auto one for years. Never thought it was worth the cash. I don't make my living using one so never thought it was worth the crazy amount of money. Now with a online coupons they have you could get them pretty cheap.

The same could be said for the $200 snap-on versions but if you can find a deal for 1/3 the price or less, why wouldn’t you?

Yeah I know what you mean. Just always seems if you don't buy the tools from the it's a pain. My friend spent 10,000 on a tool box with a couple tools. But really hate having people do crap for me
