Need advice on redoing a SN tray

Picked up a modified SN hull. The walls have been contured and foot folds have been installed. My issue is that the tops of the walls that have been contured are not smooth (bumpy and exposed glass) and the wall are now thicker making the width of the tray about 12.5".

How would you address smoothing out the tops, narrowing the walls, and saving the foot holds, if possible? Could you also recommend what and how much materials will be needed?

Just start cutting. It's only glasswork. You'll figure it out as you go. It's a creative process. Just do what you think you'll like.
