need advise on freestyle motor

Im looking to upgrade my motor for freestyle.I would like to have enough power for a flat water backflip without having to run race gas,a special pipe or a magnum pump.I would aslo like to be able to use taper bored dual 44 carbs but if thats not realistic then I will go bigger.so far the only set up ive looked into is the group k 845 kit.I have a complete 760 (64x) in a gp 760 I can use for a donor motor if I need to or I can just sell the whole ski and use the money for the motor.so what do you guys think would be my best bet for a motor?

budget is 3 to 4k.and I know that a 760 wont flip a super jet I was just saying that I had one so you knew what I had to work with.I could use it for the group k 845 or maybe put a lamey cylinder on it or somthing.Or I can sell it and start from scratch.I was planning on doing the group k kit but I dont know if that will be enough power and I dont like that there are only 2 overbores but on the other hand I have read that stroker cranks dont last very long either.so what is a better way to get the power stroker or bigbore? also how big of diffrence do power valves make?.I do have a limited b pipe I would like to use also.

For that budget, a short aftermarket hull like the BOB might be a better solution - because you're not flipping a SJ for that money (on flatwater off your own wake).

.I was planning on doing the group k kit but I dont know if that will be enough power

It won't be. I haven't heard the best reviews on that motor.

Properly taken care of, a good stroker crank should last you a long time.

Get a bigger budget. A Team Scream top end is about $3k alone, and then you'll need total loss @$500+, big carbs @$400+, prop @$1-300, trim kit, etc. etc. I hate to discourage you, but you need to have a better idea of what it takes to pull flatwater flips. On the other hand, your budget would build a barrel roll capable ski.

You could save yourself some $ and a bunch of hassle building half a freestyle machine by rounding up some mates with boats who can put a v wake up. You will have a sweet time learning to b flip and your ski will already be capable.
If you want to spend cash I have to agree with matt e in saying buy a bob and whack that 760 in it with a bunch of good bolt ons and see how you get on..

Whats the proper way to take care of a stroker?

Same as any other motor you care about - use good oil, don't run it WOT across the lake, try not to sink it every weekend, fog it, bump it every now and then if it's being stored - that kind of thing.

What ski are you trying to backflip? A stock SN or RN hull will need a lot more than a 760 to backflip.

Soo what size motor does it take to flip a SJ.... I have a 2008 SJ and am looking to do just that.....The guys I ride with have XFT hulls and 1000cc DASA powervalve motors..!! That is a lil extreme for my budget.

Manfish from what I gather it takes every dollar of a hugely expensive setup to backflip off of your own wake your best bet is to ride in the surf or organise a v wake. As far as spending $20g+ I dont think the cash is worth the buzz of a piddly little flatwater b flip buy a trampoline.

well i already plan on running a lightweight really short hull. And I already have a msd totalloss set up and trim too.so what I need to know is what would be a good motor set up.what if I upped the motor budget to 6k. would a team scream 865 do the trick? and could I run dual 44s on it or does it need 46s.Does the theam scream require a mag pump? and what exactly is the jam? or maybe a ported frankenstein motor.

I can flip plate to plate Jetmaniac ski is a carbon hull stock lenght and he got the XS SS827 with setback magpump, XS said if are using a stock hull you be fine with a TBM cone on your pump, but if you jump to a carbon hull a magpump is a MUST, Been there and done that

What hull are you planning on running?

im going to make my own hull.Im working on the plug for the mould now.It will have a superjet based bottom deck with a 650sx based top deck.of course it will be sectioned and shortend, wider tray, set back motor and pump, all that good stuff.kinda like my own version of a bob hull.are there any other motor set ups that are comparable to the xs 827? what about the dasa 89mm billet power valve top end kit,has anyone ran this set up, and how would it compare to the xs 827?
