Yesterday was the first ride of the year. Have a 1990 hull with a 95 ZXI 750 motor. Westcoast pipe, waterbox, spark arrestors. Run premix 50:1. After 10 min of riding, noticed no water out of the pissers on the side. Shut it down immediately. Plugs are golden brown. Did compression check - 140/138 cold. Got it home, now when started, it revs up to about 3/4 throttle on its own. Still haven't investigated water out of the pissers? Does anybody know the appropriate routing of the water lines? Pics? Previous owner did the swap and would like to verify that it was done right. Any thoughts?? Thanks

check the water lines first. Might just be clogged. If the ski was sitting for a while, even if it was fine when you put it up, there are a hundred different kinds of bugs that love those pee-holes as condos!

check for air leaks. that will cause them to rev like that. also make sure the butterflys are closing all the way in the carbs

Thanks guys. Will check it out tomorrow. Does anybody have pics of an X2 with a 750 in it? Most importantly the engine compartment and water lines?

Thanks

just getting back from the river... Had to take the sea-couch... The x2 has a westcoast pipe, which has two fittings coming off the back. Where do these go? One was routed to the firewall fitting which went out back. Tore the carbs off this morning before we left. One of the little boots for the oil injection removal kit is missing. hope this solves the air leak with no internal damage. Also, the ski has 38mm keihins, what should the pop-off be for my setup? I would love to drop this off with Shawn_NJ and have him tune it so it rips like it should! Just throwing it out there...

Did some more research at pwctoday and found the apropriate routing for the water lines. No it wasn't right. More research into the water lines found that the pisser was clogged with extremely small leaves? Problem solved.

Was still investigating the pop-off for the carbs. During pop-off testing there were little bubbles coming around the needle seat (have dual 38mm CDK II). Further inspection = bad O-ring on one of them. Hoping the dealer has rebuild kits tomorrow. Still unsure of the right pop-off. Found another thread that said the ZXI 750 should have around 40 psi pop-off? Does this sound right? Seems a little high. My XP800 has a pop-off of 30 psi with Mikuni Super BN's?

For the 750 application of the Westcoast pipe, route the water like this. These are the original instructions from 1993. Note: This is for the Works pipe (4 fittings).
