Other Need the forums help with repairing my trailer

Hey everyone,

My wife and I are moving and we have to get rid of our 550's
the trailer we have used with them had what I would call a catastrophic failure of the wheel bearings on one side. I pulled the hub and found a replacement hub and bearing kit.
however I'm nervous to remount everything and sell the trailer as the spindle is in pretty bad shape. I'm no machinist but I would guess the spindle is pretty toasted. the race for one the bearings stayed on and mostly preserved the surface where the race rides on the spindle. however the other race came off completely and the spindle is a little gouged where the other bearing race would sit.
right now I have no way to move the trailer and it is sitting in my garage.

now I'm contemplating putting the new hub and bearing kit on so I can at least wheel the trailer out of my garage. then im not sure what to do with the trailer. I have been so far unsuccessful in finding a repair shop in town who can diagnose the problem (most likely re-welding a new spindle) closest shop I have found so far is about 45min away.

I want the easiest cheapest way to get rid of the trailer and skis, I'm not opposed to selling the skis without the trailer, but then I have to figure what to do with the trailer...

what would you guys/gals do?

here are pics of the spindle... thanks to anyone who can offer some advice/help

That spindle appears to be quite useable. Sand the innermost area where the seal sits with fine sandpaper. File the high spots -if any- until the inner bearing cone fits with mild tapping and have a nice day!

this is exactly what i did... took a lot of sanding because there were some pretty high spots from metal deposited from the old bearings. but eventually i got the high spots low enough that i could slip the old race back on with very light tapping. saved me a good amount of money thank you!
