Super Jet Negative Battery terminal spark ??

Notice a spark when connecting negative Battery terminal to negative ground wire.

- Is the Epic drawing a constant current ?
- Do I have a underlying problem with bad negative ground ?
- Is this a short and how would you trace it ?

It's normal and nothing you need to worry about. Just inrush current as the circuits charge up.

Will the MSD drain my battery if I don't disconnect it?

Eventually yes but if your electrical is in order, not for several weeks. I leave my wife's ski (MSD Enhancer) hooked up with the tether on and it fires right up after sitting for 6-8 weeks.

Thanks. My SJ had stock electronics and I just dropped a MSD in it. No spark when I connected it. My GP1200 is all stock and it started killing batteries w/in a week if I leave it connected. I'm sure something is broken but the ski runs great so I'm not wasting money on something that isn't a problem. I'll unhook my SJ when It's going to be sitting, which isn't very often.
