actually, there is nothing wrong with the stock ride plate. intake grate and exhaust definitely. maybe a high compression head.......once you get those down, you can look into steering upgrades and lowered seats......great mods for surf.

stock ride plate is one of the best for surf, just D-cut it and your good. intake grate, prop, head and exhaust and your set. then you can look into steering and some other higher end stuff down the road

thanks guys for all your input. i have a skat prop in it. just did a block off on it. and i am looking for a pipe for it if anyone knows where i can find one let me know please. also @701chris what is the cost of your quick steer steering system.

$399 plus shipping. Since this is your first B1 I'll pay for shipping. All stainless except for the billet head. Urethane bushing so you never have to worry about rusting out a bearing, adjustable steering stops, and has a bunch of adjustments for faster/longer throw......dial it in to your own riding preferences. Available for 7/8 or 1 1/8 bars.

Check us out on facebook.......link below.

I ride 100% surf. My easy non-motor mods were:

1) Stock Ride Plate - DIY "D" cut.
2) Intake grate (a single vein style with the shovel like a JD or the Riva) found on Ebay.
3) Bilge(s) and handlebar mounted switch.
4) M/X bars and locking grips.
5) The turning nozzle pivot relocation w/the steering cable mod.
6) Prop: The stock OEM was stainless, a Skat Trak I think and if it's still in good shape keep it. If it's wasted and you dont want to "up" the compression, replace it with a similar unit.

My B1 came with the Coffman Rocket Pipe which is similar to other "up-swept" pipes like Pro-Tec's and the Riva Red. Heavy. It works though and they pop up for sale regularly.

super easy "quick steer mod" just relocate the pivot bolt closer in towards the nozzle. faster response on steering, great free mod.
