Blaster New deck layup ,Carbon Fiber questions ??

Ok , Im getting close to laying up a new flatdeck out of CF , I will be laying over expanded ''white'' polystyrene so it will have a solid waterproof base , I will be using epoxy resin of a thin consistency , My question is what type of CF and how many layers will I need to make it strong enough to land on . Im totally unfamiliar with CF thicknesses and weaves and need somebody with a little previous experience here.

Well, Frank, I think we should take a moment to harass you about the fact that this project has become more than the planned winter build of '09, officially the 4 year drop deck project come November! :smashfreakB::smashfreakB:

Granted, you have built the most awesome beach cart in history to date during this time frame too, so I guess we can cut you some slack..... or maybe not! lol :chairshot::chairshot:

As for the CF strength questions, Tony from Tigercraft can probably help you out with some specs. Will she be done by WaveDaze 2015?

seems like a simple question that should have a simple answer. but there is a lot to know. there are many diff weaves and that can play a big part in your layup.

for a generic answer I would say that a total 48-60 ounces should get you in the ballpark. meaning if you are using 12oz material that you need 4-5 layers. or 2 layers of 24 oz.

http://www.sollercomposites.com/ is a great place to get quality material and get your questions answered.
