new head and pipe, now 1 cylinder lean and one rich.

like the title says, since the new protec head and pipe, changed the springs to what pro tec said, and now have the front cylinder rich and the rear lean.

on the throttle, the low end seems a little dirty but the top end is kicking with power.

anyone have any input on this?

Do you have two carbs? If so tune each cylinder individually. It is unusual for both cylinders to have the same mixture requirements. Never expect both cylinders to run the same just because the carbs are.

i was told in the past this was a no no ... that both carbs had to be setup the same... so it is ok to setup one carb more rich than the other?

fyi, running stock 38's

yes, some duals come with staggered jetting from the factory
real cylinder almost always needs more fuel & bigger jets

you guys gave me the courage to get into this...lol.. always been afraid to mix match settings on the carbs...this weekend i tweaked them differently and viola, the burble is gone and now i have a smooth power band.

thanks everyone!
