Super Jet New in the forum and doubts - change steering cable and buy JM parts

Hello!
I`m new in this forum (first post), but I`m reading the forum for some time.
Let me introduce myself: my name is Fernando, I`m from Brazil, and I`m fighter pilot of Brazilian Air Force.
I started to ride jetskis in 2000, in a Kawasaki SS 750. Change to a Kawi SX 650, bought a Sea Doo 97 SP in 2004 and bought 2 Super jets in 2013, one 2007 and the other 2008.
After read a lot of threads, I decided to change the steering cable of my 08 to a 07 cable. There are some thread on how to do it?
And I need to post 5 times to PM JetManiac and buy parts.
Some pictures of the toys:

I changed the pole on my 08 to a pre 08 pole as well as a pre 08 steering cable and its a good upgrade. Wamiltons sells some sort of adapter for a pre 08 steering cable to work with an 08 pole so the only other option is to get a pre 08 pole.

Nice looking skis. I prefer to jump out of a perfectly good aircraft but I do envy you pilots. Welcome to the forums.

Thanks Mike!
I have a pre 08 cable, and I will make the adapter and take that care on where to drill the pole in order to center the cable and have correct cable travel on steering plate and nozzle. Believe me, its easier than find a good pre 08 pole here.....
But I need more information about take the cable off and installing the new cable. How to do it the best way?
Thanks for the compliments to skis. They are like new.
The 07 has some painting problems on the hood, but the engine is running very good. The 07 mods are: a dcut on ride plate, rule 500 bilge pump, worx 201 intake grate and quick steering. Next mods in couple weeks: solas 13/17 impeller, new wear ring, tubbies destryer and limiting rope.
The 08 seems like I bought from dealer yestarday. Very very new in painting and engine. The former owner did a good job. The only mod now is a rule 500 bilge pump. Next mods: flush cut ride plate, worx 201 intake grate, quick steer, tubbies destroyer.
Do you jump parachute?

The best way to change the cable is to remove the fuel tank and rideplate. Then all you have to do is unscrew the large white plastic retainer where it goes through the hull and just feed it through. Then reinstall in reverse order. There was a new take off 2001 pole on eBay recently but it would be way cheaper to buy the adapter. https://www.wamiltons.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&products_id=913

Yes, been in the Army 20 years and been on jump status for 15 of it. Retiring next year.

Thanks again Mike!
I have to pull the cable down through the pump side? Or take it off up in the steering plate side?
15 years jumping for the Army!? Are you EF?

Yes, you have to pull it out through the pump side out the back. Then feed the new one in. Once you get the new one in go ahead and feed the handlebar end up the pole before you feed it all the way in through the back. Keeps you from kinking it trying to feed it up the handlepole after the fact. Hope that makes sense.

Not sure what EF is but I'm just a supply guy in an airborne unit. I've had my fun but it's time to leave it to the younger guys.

Dang...how long is the flight from Brazil to Las Vegas in an F-5? lol

We flew 5 legs (flights), stopping and sleeping, from Poto Alegre (city in south of Brazil) to Las Vegas. All flights we have in-flight air refueling, as the pictures below:

Some flights only one, and other flights until 3 times air refueling.
So, we were limited to fly at the speed of our tanker: 500 Knots ground speed.
F-5 itself can reach 680 Knots ground speed.
Answering your question, we took 3 entire days to complete the deployment to L.V.
Same way back to Brazil.
More or less 18 hour flight to go and the same to go back. And I remember you that F-5 doesn't has auto-pilot.
