do your self a favour a buy a brand new OEM kawasaki coil, they are less than a OEM yamaha and JSS coil, plus you know what your getting in brand new and not a re conditioned 20yr old coil

You will need to have it rewired again or replace the coil with a stock one and use some wire separators to keep it from rubbing against your air filter.

If they came to you with a defect id imagine that jetmaniac will replace them

brand new to you maybe.. the leads maybe new, but the coils are old coils they have not been re wound, so they could have come off a 20 year old ski

Yes, you should! That is really strange. Dont know it could be arcing straight out the brand new cable unless a loose wire from the prok f/a pierced the insulation.
Never seen the primary or secondary windings on an oem (both kawi and yamaha are made by mitsubishi) coil fail ever no matter the age, nor has JSS. Dont see how that is relevant to a new wire insulation failure anyway.
New kawi coils need to have yami ebox grommets installed and then need ends crimped and soldered then sealed to be surf worthy.
No arguments there! No company or product is without occasional issues, but we always try to solve issues for our customers.

The stock wires on Kawi coils are crap, stock wire on stock Yami coils are crap too but better than the stock Kawi ones, there are some places it just doesn't pay to cheap out.
John (jss) has done multiple coils for me. All accel wires and boots and top notch work. He definitely hasn't cheaped out on anything he's done for me. Just my experience, but he's the first place I'd go, again.
