Very nice SN... great ski with the 701 in it....enjoy it. I loved our SN, until we got the AM hull sickness.

Congrats dude! Got my sn at the tail end of last summer and I'm DYING to finally start this season. The difference of power from an old kawi to a 650 superjet like mine, let alone a 701 like yours was unbelievable. Let's ride em hard!

Are these pipes notorious for breaking? its a riva dry pipe? or?...

Also, whats youre guys' thoughts on the current jet dynamics ride plate on it. It sticks out quite far and has a wicked curve in the centre of it.

There have been instances of heavy exhausts and raised compression cracking the base of the 61x cylinder on the intake side, just do some googling.

that pipe is just fine, its not the greatest thing in the world but will do the the job, a type 4 or a speedwerx would be a good upgrade if thats what your looking to do. dont waste your time on a B pipe even though they are good pipes too and 90% of people on this site will steer you in that direction but nothing beats a dry pipe and thats kinda what your current pipe is, someone correct me if im wrong im not an expert but i think that pipe is kinda a half breed dry wet pipe, i think there is a hole visable under the top water outlet of the jacket that injects water to the chamber but has the shape of a dry pipe. as far your ride plate, that jetdynamics plate should be a good one for that boat but its all preference and what kinda riding you like to do, in normal conditions a short plate is good for freestyle, very loose feel, fast low speed turning and usally easier to flat water flip. a longer plate is better for high speed runs, ruff water and will give you more of a stuck feel to the water. SN'es are notorious for being bouncy in the chop so a long plate is a good setup for them, im rockn a SN too and i really like the longer plates. I wouldnt loose any sleep over not haveing a girdled head, if you are the market for a new head then yes spend the extra for a girdled setup, its cheap insurance, forsure do a compression test so you will know where you are at in terms of fuel selection, your head may be milled or it it maybe not, you dont want to guess. Biggest thing to remember is that advice on jetskis is only advice, no such thing as the perfect setup, just a good one. top nasa engineers are still trying figure out why you can have 2 idendical ski's and one will smoke the other one
