I recently purchased a WB1 as a supplement to the boat. This thing is wicked fun..

I'll use this thread to document the ski and the fun I have with it.. As well as ask a ton of questions.

Here's some pics of the ski.

It was sold with some aftermarket parts. I have no knowledge of anything PWC, so if anyone can help identify them, that would be great!

Also.. I started piecing together a DIY flush kit, but can't find a 'non equal'Y 3/8 barb fitting (preferably nylon/poly) so if anyone has a suggestion I'm all ears.

That 'Y' piece is what I'm looking for. I do not want an 'equal Y' i want one with one acute angle, and two obtuse angles so that I can flow more water to the motor instead of splitting it back out the pump inlet.

Can anyone identify the head that is pictured above? I'm trying to figure out what parts I have so that I can make an educated guess on base settings for carb tuning

I just want the name/manufacturer of the aftermarket head pictured in my first post. That way I can do some research on what affect it has on the ski. I'm trying to learn as much as I can in order to make this a fun, solid, reliable toy.

Its $13 for 10 and $7 shipping. So you can have 10 for $2 each or 1 for $10. Personally i bought 10, used 3, give them to friends in need.

Mine were from amazon. I think shipping was free since i ordered other things.

You're right. I should stop being so cheap. Purchased!

Next order of business. It looks as if the only aftermarket piece is the West Coast head. I'm seeing ~160 psi compression in both cylinders with a cold motor, throttle plate open. Would I be safe to set up the carb per the FSM or should I give it a bit more fuel on the high needle and back it off as needed?

I put about 6 gallons through this thing yesterday and had a blast. This ski does exactly what you tell it to. It's got a Riva Groovy ride plate already, so I'm sure that helps.

I'm not quite convinced that the high jet tuning is correct. The ski is very quick at half throttle but I don't feel much more after half throttle, just the rev limiter when I pull the trigger all the way. Is this normal? I'm pretty sure low jet is spot on, and the ski doesn't hesitate or stumble anywhere. It just doesn't seem as if anything is happening past half throttle. (Maybe too rich?). I'll be sure to do some WOT around next time out and get a look at the plugs.

My only complaint is the short and skinny bars. I've got some Pro Taper Condor CR High bars coming, along with the adapters. I'm also looking hard at the Thrust Innovations billet throttle lever. Other than these comfort mods, and making sure the tuning is correct, my only plans are to clean up the ski, have it painted and add a nice IPD graphics kit. I'd like to put quite a bit of time on it before I start power upgrades as this is my first ski.

Sorry for the novel. I look forward to any comments or suggestions. I'll post some pictures next time for the lazy and illiterate (me on everyone else's build thread)

Started collecting parts. Next up is Thrust throttle lever and replacement cable. Gonna try to ride a couple more times before I tear it down for clean up and paint.

Your prop, or pump seal is probably damaged.. check the blades for any dings or damage.. even slight damage can cause cavitation, which is when you pull throttle wide open and its skipping.
