i have one with no water o ring just uses on the comp o ring and silicone

old style heads are likely to have more hours of use on them than the new style and they do wear out. eventually the domes spin when you try and remove the plugs and they blow Orings often.

They are basically the same design. All yamaha head shells are the same for 701 61x and 62t as well as 760 62t. The only difference is the dome sizes. The ADA big bore head shell is for BB850s with big sleeves and use Sea Doo domes.
As the buzzard said, ADA heads and domes can wear out usually from undertorquing and the shell gets loose enough for domes to wear into bottom of head shell. But most ADA heads can and do last a long, long time without issue.
If buying used, check the bottom of head shell and top of dome for wear.
(Worn ones can be used again with some 'redneck engineering' using beer can for shimming.
Also watch out for the fake ADA heads floating around. If you buy new, then choose an authorized ADA dealer and avoid ebay and pwctoday. If buying used, check it out well by comparing to info here:

id say early 90s before 62t cases
its on a block that has the intake cut off and ada welded on kawie intake
both the welded intake and the head have the same ada logo
i think it had a 5 mm stroker in it at one time
