I bought the double spring version of the steering since I am (230). However, after riding it pretty hard the last few days I have yet to push the steering down even half way.

If you are interested in one email Chris:
Chris.Ganister@gmail.com

Pros:
-Built like a tank with great looking welds - This thing looks and feels like you could throw it against a train and it would hurt the train.
-Built in steering stops
-No slop
-Uses and comes with a new set of stock bushings
-Can be adjusted for more throw
-Great customer service - I text Chris with some questions on installing the steering and he texted back right away.

Cons:
-It could be considered a con that it uses bushings vs bearings, but it feels really smooth to me. I will need to compare it to @chucktor's UMI next time he comes to the lake! =P

I will update this thread after more use and a weekend at Pismo. If anyone wants to check it out during the Pismo free ride let me know.

The spring deff helps. Mostly when you hit a wave weird and the front of the ski slams into the water. I have bottomed out the spring a couple of times.

Not like a steering dampner on a mx. Doesnt help with "tank slapping" just takes some strain off the arms and back. The steering is a Yamaha waveraider steering that the guy is modifing to match the waveblaster bolt pattern.

I am extremely satisfied with my buy from Chris... Easily the best money I've ever spent on a ski. No arm or wrist pump after hard sessions.

Update on mine, the bolt holes became oblong after a while. I had another stem made out of steel. Picked up another new one for my Reaper and after a few uses the bushing is a bit worn and she has a lot of play in her. Next steering with be a umi or KP.
