Next logical purchase

Looking for help in deciding what to purchase next for my RN.

Currently have most of the standard bolt ons for my 701, B-Pipe, head, reeds etc. Hull has holds and good turf.

I am looking into aftermarket hull options but am not yet ready to pull the trigger. Any further mods i make to my superjet should be able to carry over to the AM hull when i make that move.

The two options I'm thinking of so far are an RRP pole with fatbar steering or a Solas MAG pump setup.

What do u guys think?

I agree with speedysprocket id do a pole at that point if your def going to go to an aftermarket hull. Another reason id say the pole is that depending on what hull you go for you may not run a 144 pump. might want a 140,148,155 ect. Also all depends on your riding style surf, flat water, all around recreation riding ect

Thabks for the comments guys,

My riding is flatwater general recreational. Rarely in surf consitions.

When moving to aftermarket, the initial idea would be to swap as much as possible from my current setup. Meaning powerplant would be the typical 701 limited setup. Maybe do a top end port/polish and overbore at the time of the AM hull build.

So i dont think i would be going with a much bigger pump than 144. Unless 148 is recommended for such a setup.

Go with a Solas mag 144. That will handle plenty of power you may want to add down the road. Wait and do a handle pole when you get an aftermarket hull.

If you're focusing on stuff to take to a new hull, and a new hull might come soon, why not get the pole? I love mag pumps, but would you really want to run a stock pole on some sweet, aftermarket hull...?

Yes I run a neg4 stock rn pole on my sweet carbon superfreek. No need for a expensive heavy anchor on my ski.

Get a heavy aftermarket pole, oh and a scupper, take it into the surf and say goodbye if you ever let go.

Total loss is pricey but I hear fabulous. One thing you never mentioned was budget. Lightened flywheel and MSD on the cheap will provide you with some nice snap.

Already have #zero flywheel but no MSD enhancer.

Budget is right around 1K. Figure thats what a MAG pump setup with prop will cost. Same for aftermarket pole and new steering.

Pre 08 ski.

Currently have a skat swirl prop not sure what pitch. Its not big hub though so would change to a C75 if i do the MAG install

I dont trust any of the local shops to the work, and i dont have the equipment myself.

Also with the tolerance issues i've read of Solas units i'd prefer having one of the X's reputed builders do all the work for me. Basically order a ready to drop in package.

That'll put the enhancer out of budget

You could run a modded stock cdi instead too. You can find adjustables around 100$,and ones with the rev limiter deleted even cheaper.

Well I might be the odd man out here but with $1k in the budget the TL is out. Why not consider a 155pump with the right prop and MSD? I have heard some mixed reviews on Mag pumps from a few of the local guys. However, heard great things about bang for buck moving up to the 155 with the right prop. Than you could go MSD
