Non CGA vest

How many of you guys wear wake vest? I dont feel like getting in trouble for wearing one, i really dont have to much problems with coast guard or sheriffs but i found some nice looking vest but they are not cga. Im trying to find a vest with the buckles not in front but something that also looks good if im paying 80 dollars for a vest.

I always go CGA on a vest. It matters when you are knocked unconsious floating in the water that is why they are tested and approved.

Its not a fashion show out there, IMO

I actually cut the stitch that held my buckles in front and moved the buckles to the side on my Obrian vest.

the only ones that float you face up are the bright orange ones that go around the neck i think.

the big diff between the two that i have found is the non cga vests give you a neutral bouncy meaning you just barely float. which is sometimes nice in the surf if you loss the ski and need to duck waves.

CGA or NON CGA if you are looking to avoid scratches then get a slippery pull over style they are still cga (i think). Mine has buckles on the side, I would take a pic but i am at wrk:Banane37:

I've been on countless lakes. Some only monitor the lake to make sure people aren't being wreckless and others monitor the lake to make sure everyone is obeying every law down to the last letter. However, I have never had someone check the tags on any vest of mine. Granted all of mine/friends vests have been in good condition and were CGA anyway.

They do make vests without straps in the front. This one has pockets and vents to keep you cool in the summer. I'm a huge fan of paddling vests though.
