Octane Octane Mag Pump in Superjet ??

Can anyone walk me through the steps/parts needed to run my 140mm Octane Solas Mag pump in a SJ? Is it worth changing over the Polaris pump vs. getting a new 144 yamaha solas mag? If not I have an Octane mag pump for sale.

I would want to know what diameter bearings you have installed in this pump, are they 52mm OD or something unusual? Also what's the measurement between the pump bolts from center to center; is it 124.5mm as on the SJ?

PM xjetrider. He machined yamaha bearing carriers for his Octane pumps.

i just started to look in to doing this. but i am going with yamaha superjet shafts into an octane. 1st thing i ran into is it pretty much wont work with out a fair amount of work. seals are not the same as superjet.the superjet bearing will fit in the pump but the space between them on the shaft is not correct.

xjetrider was making a new bearing section for the Octane pump to accommodate the yamaha bearings/seals.

why not just cut the octane shaft in half and have it re welded to spec for yami fitment ????

Probably be easier to just put the 4 threaded inserts in the superset bulkhead to run the Octane bearing carrier, but that bearing carrier is the only not good part on an octane... You'll probably pay more to find someone who can weld two shafts together perfectly straight than to change to center of the pump out.

bearing carrier is the same bearing. shaft length is not. i used the octane shaft in a superjet bearing housing before i changed my octane to all yamaha .
i just send my octane pump to scat to have the center changed to run superjet shafts.

I have a new Octane/ Yamaha driveshaft in stock. Its welded perfectly and has approx .002" runout.
Its a "no brainer", you just bolt the pump in. $400.00

The Yamaha / Superjet bearing carrier are interchangeable, but you will lose the coupler cover if you use a Yamaha housing on the Octane. Watcon offers OEM Octane bearing carriers & parts. The Superjet has (3) mounting tabs vs the (4) on the Octane. Three is sufficient, Polaris simply added the 4th to avoid copyrigt laws.

Im bumping this thread, i have an extra octane magpump and i want it in my blaster, whats is the easiest way to go, im thinking making a yamma-polaris shaft. Ideas?

send it to scat. and then its a yamaha pump for life. no monkeing around with weld this and rigged that. it just works.

Why would you want to put a smaller pump in a superjet. That's just backwards. Get a skat or Solas or maxx that is bigger.

Octane has a Solas Magnum. Its 140mm but much better then stock blaster pump.

yeah what he said sorry late night. i think it was 250.00 to have it done. i am running a 9/16 in my superjet with the solas 140 pump from an octane. ski runs great.
